It would be nice if on the main page there is some indicator that a backup is happening. Also in Settings >> Backup, the last backup time/date or failed backup should be listed. I only see the backup status in settings if I do a manual backup.
Given that backups can only be done when playback is not possible, I’m not sure what the value of an indicator on the main page woud be. More UI clutter?
you have to use “Find Backups…” and navigate to where they are
would be nice if Roon could remember the location, instead of having to navigate to it every time
Roon does know where the backups are. Don’t choose the “Find Backups” option - that’s for getting backups back from a previously wiped installation of Roon (e.g. if you are moving the Roon Core to a new machine).
Instead, just View your Scheduled Backups, and choose “Clean/Restore” from the 3 dots menu on the storage path that you want to access.
ok, right! thank you
though… having a quick way to see at least latest backup would still be nice
Yeah - it’s tucked away too much for my liking as well. Another area where the UI could be improved, I think.
Thanks Geoff, I didn’t notice that before.
OR, for restoring a Manual Backup.
@Rugby - are you sure? My manual backups show up in the Clean/Restore section just like automatic backups…
Very Sure, I have a daily scheduled backup at 5 pm. Before I responded to you, I did a manual backup. Went back in and…
Still Showing yesterday’s scheduled backup and not the manual one I did 10 minutes ago. I’ll check again in 30 min and see it now shows today’s scheduled backup. ( US EST, which is GMT -5 )
Well, that’s interesting, because I CAN see my manual backup via the Clean/Restore route…
HMmmmmmm. Maybe a bug? Well, let my auto backup of today kick off and see what is what. Also, try a manual backup now and see if it is recorded in your manager listing. And see PM.
It’s there…
And, mine still does not show the manual backup, just the automated ones
