My DB and all other remotes and players have updated, but on my OSX machine it says, Software update needed" Below that says “this Mac - 1.2 (build 165) stable” - Check For An Update Check for an update is a link and not amount of clicking on it matters. I’ve rebooted and relaunched, but for some reason I can’t get 1.3 to update to this machine. Any ideas?
If you can see the Roon, Edit, View menu at the top of the screen, click Roon and then About Roon. That should get you to the screen where you can update.
I had the same, I assume this Mac is being used as a Remote? If so you can either remove Roon or just download a new core version from the Roon labs website then when you run it and copy it to the applications folder it will give you the option to overwrite, then when it runs you can select it to be a remote.
Thanks everyone. On a whim, I rebooted it a 3rd time (yes 3 times) and when I opened Roon, it immediately connected. I went into settings -> about and it checked and said I was already on the latest version. It also shows I’m using 1.3 build 194 stable. Not sure why a 3rd reboot fixed it. Perhaps it had already downloaded it but couldn’t update it in-place for some reason (locked file / permissions / I dunno). But it’s working now.
Note to self and everyone:, you may have to go through multiple reboots in macOS Sierra (10.12.3) on a Macbook Pro to get the update to take. There are worse things in life than this so it may be an edge case.
