1.3 Volume Leveling

Can someone explain how “volume leveling” works in 1.3 and why it does not effect the SQ. Thank you.

I’ve been really quite impressed with the quality of the VL in 1.3. I have it set to Auto and have just had my library on shuffle all day, vey nice.

I remember trying VL on previous versions of Roon and you could always hear SQ differences besides volume gain and now that is really the only difference I perceive… just turn up the volume knob up a few notches and we are all set.
