1.8 crashing on iMac - not resolved with Build 756

Core Machine: iMac running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. Roon build 756.

No major issues with controlling Roon on my phone or other devices, but the Roon player app crashes a few seconds after opening every time on the iMac (which also houses the core - but core seems to be working fine). Have tried re-installing, re-starting etc. but this doesn’t solve the issue.

Virgin Media WIFI router - no network issues, other devices working fine, only problem is on the iMac.

No issues with the audio devices used.

Description Of Issue

As above, the issue is purely with controlling Roon on the iMac since upgrading to 1.8.

Hello @Thomas_Spanyol ,

You have both Roon and RoonServer on this iMac, am I understanding this correctly?
Can you please try to perform a clean reinstall of the Roon app on this Mac and verify if that helps?

  • Make a Backup of your current Roon Database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
