All I see is the animated Roon logo. Is it cataloging my music library? It’s been this way for an awfully long time, more than a day. How much time is this supposed to take?
Roon has my library and the Roon database open, and is using processor time. I will happily send samples of program calls and stacks if requested.
iMac 2017, 16GB RAM, library is on outboard drive. MacOS 11.1 (Big Sur). Roon 1.8. Exact build unavailable as About Roon menu item is unresponsive.
There are 20,000 individual files in my music library folder. The Roon database is about 2GB and doesn’t seem to be changing size.
I have restarted the computer and all network devices. Using eero router. The computer where Roon resides is on Ethernet. Using Dragonfly Red for output.
Huh. I followed your instructions to rename the old database and create a new one, and now it works perfectly. Thank you. It took 10-15 minutes to generate the new database (~17000 tracks). (I have since trashed the old folder.)
I’m very curious, and would love if you are able to tell me anything about what went wrong, if it is rationally explainable.
Thanks for letting us know that the reinstall cleared things up here! We weren’t able to pinpoint the issue in the previous logs, but if you experience any further difficulties here, please just let us know and link us to this thread, thanks!
