2.48 (build 1517) - Listen later problem [Ticket in]

The problem with albums that have been marked as “Listen Later” and than been bought, has not been solved.

They show up again after reboot, shootdown.

It should look like this:

Hi, @Torben_Rick, thank you for your post. Could you please elaborate on this a bit?

Could you please describe step-by-step what is the workflow in this case?

Thanks!

Ivan

Hi Ivan

Steps:

  1. I discover a new albums and make it as “Listen Later”
  2. I than listen to the album a bit later when I have time
  3. Than I buy the album (download) and import it to my music folder
  4. In most of the cases I than listen to the album after the purchase - not the streaming version that I have marked as “Listen Later” but the new downloaded album
  5. When this is done I try to remove it from “Listen Later”. I can remove with (X) but it shows up again later.

This problem has been there since the launch.

Hope this helps.

Have a great WE

@ivan

The albums that Torben are talking about look like this in our Listen Later Queues. They are in the queue but they aren’t even actually marked as listen later as I have not option to remove from queue. In my case I believe I changed the primary album for the Beggers Banquet while it was in the queue and it was a local different version when I added it to Listen Later.

For this Patricia Barber, I had listen later on the Qobuz version and then added the album locally and now it’s in the same state.

Same here:

@ivan You can then click Add to Listen Later and they move to the top of the queue. You can then click Remove from Listen Later and they get removed from Listen Later completely until you reboot Roon Server when they appear again in the same state as our screen shots.

At this point I’m going to remove the albums completely from my collection and clean my library and add them again and see what happens.

@ivan I was wrong I had the Beggars Banquet Qobuz 24/176.4 version marked for listen later and then I changed the primary version to my local SACD version.

Anyway, now when I remove my local SACD version temporarily the Qobuz version shows up again and it’s marked as listen later so I should now be able to permanently remove it.

For those looking at this thread

Make sure you remove your Qobuz marked Listen Later albums first if you purchase and add or even change primary album of the same album.

Hi, @DrTone, @Torben_Rick, we were able to identify the issue and created a ticket for the dev team.

Thanks!

Thanks @anon15113244 I was not going to post anything, as I don’t enjoy screaming into the void that much any more (it used to be a favourite past time of mine).

@ivan I posted a walk through this on the day the first production release was released in the feedback thread as I was able to reproduce it, after every reboot and could not get any engagement even after follow up posts

But hopefully this is fixed soon as I like others have a growing collection of albums stuck in Listen later Purgatory.
Even with this issue I really like the feature, but it will be much better when we can remove items that we have purchased without remembering to remove them first.

I didn’t try this but while we wait for a fix can someone try disabling the storage location to see if the ghost qobuz version appears in LL letting you remove it?

When I temporarily removed the local copy of the album, the Qobuz version showed up in LL allowing me to permanently remove it.

Even adding Qobuz / TIDAL items to the Roon library causes this issue

Ah I deleted Qobuz from Roon and I have an empty Tidal database that I only use for listen later so I missed that part.

I have bought about 15 albums that are stuck in my LL queue though and I look forward to reducing that down

Just to confirm, if you temporarily disable your storage the ghost Qobuz/Tidal Listen Later entry will appear in your Listen Later allowing you to remove it. Enable your storage again and it should be permanently removed.

Exactly the same issue here, very annoying.

Same here. Like, I know that Souvlaki by Slowdive is incredible, but I don’t want to listen to it every day  In my case, it was a Qobuz album that I had in my library, and put in listen later. I then added the CD version to my local files, and now I can’t get rid of it.

Same issue here. Not even sure it’s related just to albums you later buy. You can add, remove, add remove but on each reboot the albums reappear. Really annoying as it’s a very useful feature, gets round Qobuz not having a wish list or save for later feature. I have stopped using it so hope it’s fixed soon.

I now have 4 albums that reappear in Listen later. When the album is checked, they do not have an indication that they are added to the Listen Later list. To remove them, I need to add them, then remove them, and then they are removed. However, on restarting the server, they reappear in the list. Still buggy but I feel we are getting there.
