My experience want to share some feedback regarding the recent software update to Version 2.6.5. As a long-time user who appreciates the platform’s commitment to high-fidelity audio, I have always looked forward to your updates. However, since installing the latest version, I have noticed a discernible change in the sound signature of my system.
Specifically, I have found that the bass performance has become less defined and lacks the impact and depth that was present in previous versions. Instead of the expected improvement, the overall sonic balance feels somewhat diminished on my current setup, which includes a Bricasti M21.
I understand that software optimization is a complex process, but I wanted to bring this to your attention as it significantly impacts the listening experience. I would greatly appreciate it if your engineering team could look into whether there have been any changes to the audio engine or DSP handling in this version that might affect low-frequency reproduction.
Thank you for your hard work and for continuously striving to make Roon the best music management system available. I look forward to any insights you can provide or future patches that might address this concern.

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to provide some follow-up feedback regarding the recent Version 2.6.6 update.
First, I would like to acknowledge that 2.6.6 is a noticeable step up from 2.6.5. However, after extensive listening, I feel that the sonic performance still hasn’t quite regained the “solidity” and “weight” that made Version 2.6.4 so exceptional.
Based on my critical listening, I have noted the following areas that I hope your team can look into:
• Vocal Body (400Hz – 600Hz): There is a slight lack of thickness and “warmth” in the human voice. It feels a bit thinner than what I experienced with 2.6.4, losing some of that organic, lifelike presence.
• Sub-bass Extension (45Hz and below): While the bass is “clean and tight,” it lacks sufficient depth and “slam.” It feels like the low-end doesn’t quite “hit the floor” or provide the grounded authority needed for a full-scale orchestral or percussive performance.
• Soundstage & Authority: The overall soundstage feels somewhat narrower in this version. The presentation lacks the “solid” and “palpable” feel of 2.6.4; it’s clean, but it feels a bit lean rather than powerful.
I truly appreciate the “cleanliness” of the current playback, but for many of us in the high-end audio community, the physicality and low-end power are what bring the music to life. I am using a high-resolution system (including a Bricasti M21 and Vvaudio Vanadium Roon server ), and these nuances are quite apparent.
I hope these observations are helpful for your future audio engine fine-tuning. Thank you for your constant dedication to improving the Roon experience.
Somehow I have a total opposite experience. The change from 2.64 to 2.65 gave me the feeling, that music is less compressed, more airy than before. It is more 3 dimensional. From 2.65 to 2.66 it is about the same, but 2.64 to 2.65 was quite a step forward.
All we need now is a third poster who found no differences. That will give Roon a better idea about what they need to fine tune in terms of SQ.
We already had „it’s worse“, „it’s better“, and „same“ after the update to 2.64, the build that is now better or worse than 2.66 
After a recent update I noticed a significant increase in airiness. It was a night and day difference and even my wife noticed it! She then told me to shut the window as the heating was on and, bang, the airiness was gone.
I’m glad it wasn’t my imagination when I heard subtle differences running under windows. Definitely no airiness in the new container.
