I am subject to two error messages that are both deeply annoying:
ONE. To a usb connected backup harddrive that is connected to a pc on the local network (in the house), I can freeyly connect and access data from whatever terminal and software. It is on this path: \ACERPCKJOKKEN\G Seagate 3TB\OneDrive
It is freely available via Windows or os x terminals, but not from roon backup setup, nor from roon storage setup. The roon error message: “Error loading folder. Not available”.
Oh, but yes, it IS available. This error message is phony.
If one defines a network path to the /Users folder, then this works, however from there, there is no route down to the usb connected Harddrive. I am completely stuck, IOW.
TWO. I can’t recall the exact phrase, but when roon gets into trouble loading a track from a remote server, it claims in a pink-orange font that “the track is loading slowly and the likely reason is network problems”. It is always this same “excuse”.
This error message is phony when it comes to the general system. I have today played in parallel the same (type of) track from the same source to the same outlet, and while roon kneels down, the other players has absolutely no problems. I did this test with cd quality tracks.
Roon OFTEN has this problem, several times a day. The other players (Tidal, USB Audio player pro on Android, the native LG players, and more) does not have any network problems of this kind whatsoever. The same goes for Airplay that seems to be a more stable network protocol than RAAT, in fact it is always working. Generally speaking, it means this +100Mb local wifi network is working and that the error message is incorrect.
Since the error pops up on all sorts of audio formats, it is not related to DSD playback or similar.
Regarding this error message, PLEASE make a more elaborated SET of error messages, so that we can fix things without contacting roon experts Good idea, not?
In addition, when roon gets into this kind of slow-loading trouble, sooner rather than later roon steps to next track. I have not allowed for that in any setting, and indeed I do not want that result. I want roon to not give up on a track without my written, checked permission. Is this ok?
Yours sincerely.
