It’s that time of year again - here is a place to post your favourite albums of 2022. Your top 10, top 5, top 20, or just your favourite - all contributions welcome!
I’ll kick things off. If I’m being honest I don’t think this was quite as good a musical year for me as 2021, but here’s my top 10 for what it’s worth:
Album of the Year:
David Longdon - Door One
Just a fantastic legacy from one of my favourite prog artists who sadly passed away a year ago. Beautiful album.
Others in my top 10, in no specific order:
Lobate Scarp - You Have It All
Andy Timmons - Electric Truth
Wilderun - Epigone
D’Virgilio Morse Jennings - Troika
Al Di Meola/Jean-Luc Ponty/Stanley Clarke - Live at Montreux 1994
Threshold - Dividing Lines
Kite Parade - The Way Home
Joanne Shaw Taylor - Nobody’s Fool
Earthling - Eddie Vedder
Honourable mentions:
Six By Six - S/T
Steve Hackett - Genesis Revisited Live: Seconds Out & More
Children of the Sün - Roots
Binker Golding - Dream Like a Dogwood Wild Boy
Philosophobia - S/T
Nice list @Rockhound
I have been whittling my list down over the last few days and a little cross over with yours. Hopefully post soon and I imagine others are doing the same

This was not an easy task in a good way. I added 1389 New Releases in 2022. Decided early on to rate as either 4.5, 5.0 or 5.0+ or no rating at all.
At various times as albums either grew on me or I lost that loving feeling, they moved up and down or out of those ratings all together. Ended up with 196 Albums in those categories with 70 of those eventually being 5.0+. From there I have selected 12 as my top choices with another 58 as honourable mentions. So here they are in pic format.
Top 12 - Overall Favourite was a tie between Tosca - Osam and Spain - World of Blue

BTW…I deliberately did not include any live albums as they are not technically “new” as such even if three from this year have been heavily played by myself and on that score could have been in my top 12.
I agree as Soen would have been in top 10 otherwise and Saturday Night in San Franciso and Black Stone Cherry Live at the Albert Hall.
I listened those a lot, but it is hard work making these lists and sticking to the rules
(even if we make the rules ourselves)

Lol, I thought we just made the “rules” up as we went along
