Hello all. I am looking for information from this vast collection of informed contributors on this forum, to help me make a decision on a 5.2 processor to replace my Classe SSP -800. This unit has served me well for about ten years but seems to be on the way out.
I listen to 2 channel in the same room and have the Classe CA 600 monoblocks powering two B & W 800 Ds.
With room treatment and two JL audio 13” subs, I have been pleased with the sound.
I am not interested in atmos or the like, quite happy with the 5.2 setup- but being in Canada- the choices for a reasonably priced proscessor with the sonic qualities of the Classe seem limited.I’d like to be in the $10,000 - $12,000 (Canadian) range if possible- anyone have any suggestions please?

have a look at the Linn Selekt DSM. You can configure that to meet your surround requirements and it works very well in a two channel mode for stereo listening as well.
Well actually, I love the sound of this processor with my system - but the touch screen is failing. This piece is in my theatre 5.2 system, which is also my “go to” 2 channel critical listening media room.
I have a decent system upstairs in the living room- and the Classe preamp (CP 800) from this system, which is only seven years old has intermittent issues that the authorized repair centre can’t seem to fix.
My thoughts were that if I could find a decent, updated processor with comparable or better sound than the Classe, for the media room, I would bring the SSP upstairs to replace the CP800, as at this point it doesn’t look as they will be able to repair that piece.
