A few niggling problems with Roon

DESKTOP-G22G84B, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor 3.79 GHz, installed RAM 64GB W indows 10. 3 hard drives used for the music files. Roon on an SSD.

Please note I’m generally pleased with Roon and it is now controlling 31,000 albums and it is possible this large library is challenging Roon and not helping with the niggle problems listed below. That said, I’m listing them in the hope of further improvement.

  1. Breaking up a set of albums from a large download generates doubling of tracks.
  2. Generating a star rating can be frustrating, especially on an iPad – hard to get it to work.
  3. The detection of duplicates is poor with many falsely detected but most missed.
  4. Deleting duplicates is often baulked with preference seemingly given to an older duplicate for deletion. The disallowed delete file is supposedly unavailable but can be found on Windows Explorer to delete but this inconsistent run around should not be needed.
  5. Changing mode from “Artists” back to another mode first often generates an album rather than the other mode display.
  6. When trying to insert a tag in a new entry, the tag window informs me I have no tags but does display them all later.

@JOHN_COULSON, I recategorized your post to the Roon Software Discussion as it does not appear you need specific technical support. This category will allow others to join in disucssing your points.
