About Display 2

Anyone care to post a picture? I’m in the market for a Display 2, but not if it’s not ready for prime time.

I use 3d printed stands: https://www.printables.com/model/1062445-raspberry-pi-touch-display-2-stand

Looking forward to this being released. Thank you for the hard work.

Do you ever think there ‘might’ be support for a Waveshare 7.9inch Capacitive Touch Screen??
I like the ultra wide look (kinda like the Hi-Fi Rose)

I wanted to build it into a case and mame my streamer look more professional

Well, with the latest refactor of the software, which was necessary for Display 2, this is potentially easier to do. So I would say that the ‘no’ has changed into a ‘might’.

On the left display2. The other is the old one. Both on a rpi 4B. Better view “on a angle” (kijkhoek in Dutch) with display2

That would be AWESOME. I really like the attached pic, I have all the hardware and someone that can ‘cut’ out the section for the screen. I just want a Roon streamer and this could be it :slight_smile:

When I compare my Display2 to the original display the Display2 has a strong yellowish color-cast. But in your picture I don’t see that. Your Display2 looks much better. I wonder if the factory quality control for the new display needs some improvement?

@Thomas_Prossima1
I took another picture and now you can see that the display 2 is more yellowish. The old display is whiter.

Where have you found this DIY streamer? Looks nice.

Seen that detail in the photo?

@BeeKay ?
I had seen it, but couldn’t find the source.
Now I found it. For those also interested: My first Audio player @volumio Rpi 4 + LCD 7.9 - MyVolumio Discussion - Volumio Community.
Looks a nice looking streamer. I’m afraid that, even if it is a DIY streamer, a very expensive one. That guy is not in for compromises. Only the best is good enough. Nice hobby!

Nice investigation. I couldn’t quickly figure out the costs from the thread. Do you have it at hand?
