I would love to see Roon add a dedicated “Date Favorited” or “Favorite Added” field for tracks.
Currently, Roon offers a Date Added field, but this only reflects when a track was added to the library. That is useful, but it does not show when I actually marked a track as a favorite.
This distinction matters a lot for the way I use Roon. I often rediscover songs from older albums that have been in my library for a long time. When I favorite one of those tracks today, I would like to be able to see it near the top of a list of recently favorited tracks. However, because the album or track may have been added to my library years ago, sorting by Date Added does not help.
A sortable Date Favorited field would make it possible to:
-
view favorite tracks in the order they were favorited
-
easily revisit recently rediscovered songs
-
create more meaningful bookmarks or playlists based on recent listening discoveries
-
distinguish between “added to library” and “marked as favorite”
Ideally, this field would be available in track lists, focus/filter options and smart playlists, just like other metadata fields.
For users who regularly explore older parts of their library, this would be a very useful way to track personal music discovery over time.
