Description of Issue

I’m adding music to library for the first time. After having added 300.000 songs from an external Seagate disc, the adding gets very slow. I have 460.000 tracks in total. What can I do - start new ?

Thats a lot of music
I know you posted your core machine but what are its specs as I am not familiar with Macs.
You are going to need a decent amount of ram for that much music and a reasonable speed cpu.
Any warning messages or just slowed down on the import?
Its probably struggling to analyze all that music atm.

The following is all imho,

You probably want at least 16 gb of ram and an i7 CPU. That i5 will struggle.

Also, MacOS is not the OS I would recommend for large Roon libraries. Rock, Linux or even Windows is better.
