Description Of Issue
The NAS does not show up on the add files section of Roon at all. When I try and add a ‘Network Share’ which is what I assume it is, I get asked for a path which I simply cannot find. The normal way of finding a file path in OSX does not render a useful answer when used with the NAS.
Can you share a screenshot of Finder showing the network share? From this we can help add this to Roon under Settings > Storage > Add Network Share. It will be something like…
\\<NAS IP address or host name>\<share name>, e.g. \\192.168.1.50\music.
I was hopeful that might solve it, but I get a red box that says there was an “Unexpected Error” each time I try.
The NAS is a Seagate and has UPnP enabled on it - for example the Linn Kazoo app just loads it automatically with no problems.
The share has both SMB and AFP enabled if that is relevant.
EDIT: solved the issue. Some network changes done as a result of alarm installation etc had changed the IP address of the NAS from what I had in my notes! All working fine now so thanks for that.
