And I think that’s why Claude ai suggested that Roon may have a better chance of utilizing an AI fingerprinting detection service natively for the following reasons Claude ai said streaming services are reluctant to do so:
Distributor resistance — DistroKid, TuneCore and other distributors who feed content to TIDAL and Qobuz would push back against stricter screening that reduces their upload volumes
Legal ambiguity — rejecting AI content raises questions about discrimination and liability that platforms are cautious about
Revenue conflict — AI music generates streams which generate royalty pool revenue and subscription justification
The only issues Roon would have are integration and cost. A simple on/off switch will appease those in community that do not care about listening to AI-generated music.
Another incentive for Roon to consider integrating an AI detection service natively is the potential to gain new subscribers who, like the writer of this article, are seeking a way to avoid AI-generated music…
I haven’t read all comments here. I have to admit I am fairly ignorant of the subject. I am always looking for new artists and this means I am occasionally hap hazard in choosing new things. What will be interesting is when I find a new awesome favorite artist and they turn out to be AI. These are weird times my friends!
I think a lot of us are in the same camp about the uncertain impact AI will have on our lives as well as our children going forward. Just heard about a new film documentary opening in theaters tomorrow, titled “The Ai Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist”, that is recommended for those of us who are concerned…

From the Academy Award®-winning filmmakers behind Everything Everywhere All at Once and Navalny; a father-to-be tries to figure out what is happening with all this AIinsanity. The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist is a hand-made, eye-opening documentary about the most powerful technology humanity has ever created… and what’s at stake if we get it wrong.
Until I am assured that AI-generated music will not replace human musicians, I do not want to support AI slop by streaming it and financing humans whose only talent is providing Suno with a creative prompt. Thus, I am asking Roon to please consider giving us a tool to skip AI tracks.
I’m actually a composer who writes film scores, and coincidentally, have written many pieces for MYMA and other production music catalogues like Universal, EMI, etc.
These albums are briefed by tv production companies, sometimes for series that are in the edit.
Google Gemini is completely and utterly wrong. All the music made in these production libraries have absolutely zero AI in them. The music is written by working, accomplished composers and many cases use live players and orchestras. Some of my Library music has been recorded in Abbey Road.
The publishers of this music have started to put them on streaming platforms because surprisingly, people hear them on tv, film or commercials and want to listen to the music.
When Shazam came out, library music publishers and composers were surprised how many people were trying to hunt down the music they were hearing in media. All those old KPM library records are really popular too.
AI music is a whole other level and enables content farming on a massive scale to poach royalties reserved for human creators. Library music is not that, and the use of AI in the creation of library music (at least from all of my clients) is strictly prohibited.
Good to hear. Do you have a link? I couldn’t find you on Qobuz. Just a lot of references to a famous medieval literary figure which can’t be you. Another seeker of truth. Maybe a pseudonym? Always interested in new movies and TV soundtracks.
