Describe the issue

New imported files from my vinyl ripping are being seen as corrupt. All the files play fine in Apple Music. Not all the files from the vinyl rips (AIFF format) are seen as corrupt, only some of them which is perplexing.

Describe your network setup

Hi @JazzBo,

Thank you for your post. Please share the following for the team to escalate this report:

  1. An example of a failing AIFF file (you can upload it here).

  2. A screenshot of the Watched Folder pathway containing the files from Roon Settings.

Thanks!

Hi @JazzBo,

On closer inspection, diagnostics indicate that there might be database corruption on this Nucleus.

Please take the following steps before attempting to re-import the affected files per the above instructions:

  • Stop RoonServer from running in Nucleus’s WebUI
  • Navigate to your Nucleus’ Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Restart the RoonServer in the WebUI to generate a new Database
  • Reinstall the RoonOS software in the WebUI for due diligence
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database
  • Add your network share locations
  • Restore an older Backup

Thanks Connor.

Before I got your email, I quit Roon and logged off. I then restarted my computer, logged back into to Roon and everything appears to have been now imported correctly.

If the problem continues, I will look to your solution.

Is it OK for me to backup Roon now?

Thanks,
Dave (JazzBo)

Hi @JazzBo,

The latest diagnostics don’t indicate that the Nucleus is functioning abnormally. If you experience any issues moving forward, please follow the steps above.

You can Backup as necessary.
