After the release of AirPlay 2, I was thrilled that the delay (latency) issue would finally be resolved. However, there are still some problems. I have a group consisting of a pair of HomePod minis and a pair of HomePods (1st generation), all in stereo mode. The HomePod minis are fine and are identified as Roon Tested. Unfortunately, the same does not apply to the 1st generation HomePods. Why is that?
Additionally, the delay is still present on those HomePods.
All are Apple products with the same technology, so I simply don’t get it…
I also have stereo pairs of Homepods mini and 1st generation Homepods, and I also have the exact situation you describe regarding the detection by Roon as pairs:
Homepod mini pairs are detect as such and reported as Roon tested
1st generation Homepod pairs are not detected as pairs by Roon.
