Describe the issue
AirPlay device not playing
Describe your network setup
I have a ubiquity network with all of their hardware hooked up to versions Fios network.
Thank you for your post. Diagnostics indicate you’re encountering a known class of error with Airplay2 compatibility for which the team has a ticket in the pipeline.
Have you toggled on Compatibiliy Mode in the Device Setup page for this Airplay Zone in Roon (Settings → Audio → Gear icon)?
Do any errors present in the UI during pairing or attempted playback with this Zone?
Ok, then it’s not what I suspected. The first post from the form listed only live radio as the affected service. See what Connor wrote I’m the meantime.
I just updated the setting for compatibility mode to “yes” and tried again with no difference. I’m playing a tidal track and the pause button shows as if it’s playing. No sound and the track time is stuck at zero. I then tried a radio stream and the behavior changed and the stop button shows but stays that way and no sound.
So still ain’t working……this Arylic device is just like a WiiM….and it plays with tidal connect. Any other ways I can stream to it from Roon?
Hi Connor - can you point me to the broader ticket for this class of error so i can track it. I’m still in “trial mode” with Roon and want to see if all my devices will work with it before i pull the trigger and get the necessary server hardware.
Thanks for the additional information, and sorry to hear your issues with Airplay persist.
Are you by chance able to test out adding your airplay devices to your Apple home app? I realize you’re running windows so it might not be possible for you - you’d likely need an iOS device, here’s more info:
The ticket we have is internal, and not something we share via the community, unfortunately. That said, the ticket is still under investigation with development - we’re not able to speak on specific timelines, but when a fix is pushed, we always mention it over in our software release notes, which I’ll link below:
