How does Airplay work with Roon and the CXN streamer? Does it stream via wifi to your router and then on to the CXN?

Yes it will use you iPad or phone to send it on to the CXN using whatever network connection is has. In Roons audio settings you should see the CXN show up under the airplay section. Enable it and then you can stream via Roon app to it.
