Description of Issue

I have a bunch of albums ripped from SACDs and saved as DSF files
I have also ripped these same SACDs as ALAC files since they are dual layer

All DSF files are in one location (folder) and all the ALAC files are in a different location (folder). I have Roon pointed to both folders
All of these albums except one appear just ONCE in Roon. I am thinking that Roon sees both albums by the same artist and by the same name and only displays/plays the higher quality (DSF) one. I do have one album that is showing twice and cannot figure out why and cannot figure out how to fix it. It is Elton John’s Goodbye Yellowbrick Road as shown below

Any ideas why it display twice and how to fix it?

One difference I’m noticing is that these 2 versions of the album have a different release date. The first has a release date in 1973, the other in 2003. Perhaps this is why Roon sees them as being different?

There are a lot of reasons why roon may not auto-group album versions. This happens a lot. But you can always do this manually yourself.

If you want to group one or more albums together

Right Click Highlight → Three Dots → Edit → Group Alternate Versions

You can then select the “Primary Version” that roon will display. By default that is the highest resolution but you may prefer a different master or one with different bonus tracks etc.

That did the trick, did not even realize that was a feature in Roon
