If you’re using an Android device, it’s turned out to be risky to use Apple’s ALAC format with it, due to buggy and out-of-date codecs on the Android platform. This is why all music should be played from a Roon Core – Roon will, presumably safely, transform the ALAC to PCM before sending it to your Android device.
