Thanks for your report on this issue. We’ve received a few other reports about the same behavior. When you have a moment, please take a look at @connor’s post here.
For your case, were the album covers that disappeared already cached previously? That detail will help us better understand what’s going on.
@daniel@connor So what further information do you need from me? What tests would you like me to perform? I am ready and willing to help however I can to ensure that downloaded album art can be displayed while offline.
From the Mars Hotel - Grateful Dead: embedded album art, 300x300, 30kb
More Blood, More Tracks - Bob Dylan: no embedded album art, “cover.jpg” in the album folder, 1400x1400, 293kb
Oceanic Countryside - Neil Young: embedded album art, 600x600, 81kb, plus “cover.jpg” in the album folder, 3000x3000, 821kb
No patterns I can see in those 3 examples… though I’m not reporting one or two odd album art images disappearing, virtually ALL downloaded album art dissapears when offline. @Conner 's post from above seems to suggest this is normal behavior, but that can’t be the case.
Thanks for performing that test, we have added this info to the investigation ticket. The ticket has been submitted for developer review, meaning that this may take some time to be reviewed.
There aren’t any additional details needed at this time, so we will go ahead and close the thread for the time being, and if any other questions arise after the developers have reviewed the case, we will re-open the thread and reach out once more.
Thanks again for your report, and thank you in advance for your patience as the ticket progresses through the development queue for review.
