· The Album Art does not display on the TV screen.Everything else works (music playing, Album name, etc.). Is it a bug ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
System: Source: Qobuz Server: Intel NUC (roon-approved model) running Roon ROCK 2.57 built 1598 End-point: Denon AVC-X4800H, firmware 5000-2193-6035-8850 (i.e., latest version), outputting to LG TV via HDMI Both connected to router through wired Ethernet network
Let me clarify that the network firewall is set to automatically authorize all Roon related services (RAATServer, Roon, RoonAppliance, RoonBridgeHelper.app) to receive any incoming connections.
Thank you for looking at this! It is a standard album from Qobuz. Please note that the album’s cover art shows up fine on the Roon app on the Macbook I use as remote.
Let me add, for the sake of clarity, that this problem occurs for any album played on Roon. The one shown here is just an example to illustrate the problem.
Is this a bug, or is there a setting that I need to change?
Thanks for the additional information! After discussing your case with our development team, we know that typically, we’ve seen HEOS accurately display album art in the past, so in this instance, the best next step for you would be to reach out to Denon directly and see if there’s a bug in HEOS that’s limiting its ability to show album art:
Hi @benjamin! and THANK YOU for making the effort to look into this and reply. Indeed, I confirm that the Album art WAS accurately displayed UNTIL RECENTLY. Somehow it stopped a few weeks ago. This is just strange.
Thanks for confirming that album artwork was accurate until recently. We suggest getting in touch with Denon using the above link, let us know how it goes!
What is the network pathway between your RoonServer machine and the Denon AVC-X4800H? Are these connected to the same router, or is there a managed switch in between?
Dear @connor, thank you very much for following up. The issue has been solved.
The solution was to effect a “deep soft reset” of the AVC-4800H, on the advice of Microsoft Copilot.
Specifically, pressing the power button for 10 seconds forces the Denon to effect a “micro-controller reset” that restarts the HDMI board, the OSD/graphics processor, the network/HEOS module, and control micro-controller, but without wiping settings as a hard reboot would do. In effect it restarts the part of the AVR that handles metadata overlays, album arti, volume graphics, and HDMI info frames. And that was enough to fix the problem.
