Recently album cover artwork has not appeared on my album searches only a blank space where it should be.This is on my IPad which until a month or so did show the album cover. My wife’s Android tablet does show the album cover. Has a Roon update caused this or is it something else?
Describe your network setup
Sky router but no changes have been made and my wife’s Android tablet works fine
Thanks for reaching out. Can you please navigate to Roon Settings → Setup → Clear Image Cache and check if that helps? Or if that still does not help, can you try to delete and reinstall the Roon app?
Thanks for following up! We’re not able to see the iPad tied to your account, could you please reproduce the issue and share the name of an album giving you issues, and then please use the directions found here and send over a set of iPad logs to our File Uploader?
Thanks for following up! We saw the .Zip file you sent over, but it appears to be empty. This poses a bigger question, if you access the same iPad logs folder, is it empty on your end?
If you see log files, see if you can attempt to upload them again. Thank you!
Thanks for sending those over! Unfortuantly, it looks like you sent over a set of Roon Server logs, from your Roon Server machine. Close! And usually helpful, but in this case, we’ll want to see logs from the affected iPad device, here’s the specific step by step:
iOS Logs
First toggle “Save logs to Files on next startup” from your iOS Settings for the Roon App.
Reproduce the issue.
Access your Files App on the phone and upload the log file.
Hi Benjamin, I have managed to save logs to files on next startup - Logs-d141d287-741e-488a-b72f-40a209c5abbb.zip. I am however unable to move it to file finder. You have been patient however I am being increasingly frustrated going through hoops to correct, judging from numerous online comments,is a poor Roon interface and update process with Ipad - our Window and Android devices work perfectly.
Your frustration is understandable. However, without any diagnostic logging from this iPad, and with it effectively invisible to our servers except in trace references from RoonServer logs, there’s no way we can take action to resolve this issue.
Let’s try a few items for due diligence to verify that this iPad has the same network access as your other devices.
Uninstall and reinstall Roon on the iPad and please take any pending updates to your Roon controllers and RoonServer in the meantime.
On the iPad, navigate to Settings and tap Privacy → Local Network. Toggle the switch next to each app to grant access to Roon.
Hi Conner, Uninstalled and Reinstalled Roon on IPad plus updated any pending updates. then Settings - Privacy - each App. was toggled on, then what? . On the Roon help centre - Logs instructions sent to me the IOS screen shot is Settings - Local Network - Cellular Data all toggled and I assume then that Save logs to Files on next start up should be toggled. The problem is that the Cellular Data field does not appear on my Ipad. On further investigation that will only appear on an Ipad with a Sim card which mine does not have and never never has. I have managed to get a Roon mobile crash report from my Ipad - don’t know if that is any good but will try to send anyway
Thanks for the additional info. Since your iPad only has WiFi, the Cellular data option shouldn’t matter too much. You mentioned you were able to get a set of the iPad logs, but I am not seeing it on our end. Can you please send them over and let us know when you’ve had a chance to upload them? Thanks!
Hi, I have just cleared my IPad of all my files and Apps and restored it to factory settings - default Roon working okay now but I will be wary of updates in the future! I basically only used it for Roon, newspapers & Magazines. Topic can be closed now.
