Album in Tidal and Qobuz (and has been forever) but won't show up in Roon

I can find these using filter today any of these interplay session versions the one you want?

All above match Qobuz in the UK at least but one is missing.

There seems to have been a number of “Interplay” albums with different line-ups to Bill Evans normal trio.

I think this is the original we are talking about?

Then this is a re-release where the concept of “Interplay” is explained quite nicely on the front cover:

And in my territory (Ireland) I have at least two out of copyright releases. This one and the “Doxy” version with the red border I cannot find now:

The Interplay with Zoot Sims is yet another version with a different line up and tracks.

Maybe there are more Interplays.

This is the album. I am not saying it isn’t there when you search interplay, now that I have added it to my library, but it did not show up under discography with him as the main artist, no matter which focuses were selected.

Hmm. It’s actually the only “Interplay” album that shows up in the main section for me and there are no streaming right differences between the UK and the US.

To reiterate: I’m not interested in finding out whether the item comes up when you search for it, it’s all over the map whether it does or does not it seems… What I am interested in finding out is why if it is listed both by Tidal and Qobuz with Bill Evans as the PRIMARY artist, why it is not a part of his 128 record discography, no matter what focus you select (compilation, more by Bill Evans etc etc). It’s just NOT THERE…but yeah, I get it, you searched for it, it came up…it comes up for me now that I’ve added it to my library in both Qobuz app and Tidal app, but that’s not my question, again: It is "Why is this album from Bill Evans with Bill Evans as the main artist not listed in Bill Evan’s discography on Roon?

I didn’t. It’s in his Discography (for me). Main Albums section.

I don’t know why it wasn’t in your Bill Evans’ Discography. Now that you’ve added it to your library, it will always be in Discography Main Albums.

But it does show up under his main discography now. I have a feeling there was a glitch somewhere that’s been cleared. I could not find the same album you show at all but it turned up the other day in his main discography. I have never added it as an album so that does not explain why now it appears as it should and the other day it was nowhere to be found along with all the other Interplay sessions variants.

Oddly Joel it shows up for me under his main discography where the other day I could not even find that version at all.

When I look at the discography, (again no bill evans in the library and only using Qobuz), I see this version…

Going into the Album and Under Versions, I see the standard version…

Yes its there now, it wasnt when the OP posted about it neither where the others. As none of us could easily find them.

“Time Remembered” was not on the original album titled “Interplay” which had 6 tracks and later released with 7 tracks. It was included on an album released much later called “The Interplay Sessions” which had 13 tracks. It included tracks that were recorded at the same time, but not part of the original release.

Yes, it shows up now. I wonder how common this glitch is tho…

Had albums I could not find or even add before now they seem to be absent in Roons database, it’s but hugely common but does happen.

For what its worth. I cannot find that Evans/Sims Interplay in the Bill Evans discography, just like the OP. I can find several other “Interplays”.

I can find it in the Freddie Hubbard and Zoot Sims discographies if I scroll way, way down under “With Bill Evans” or filter on “Interplay” or “Bill Evans”.

The “glitch” is still there for me.

I can see it (in the UK) in Bill Evans’ Main albums section, but you need to head into the Versions tab for the album with the black cover.

In the UK, Peter Gabriel’s latest album I/o is showing in Tidal and playing but not in Roon, is there a delay this week with Roon receiving the Tidal update?

I still find this incomprehensible, I must say. I cannot discern any logic or rules or rhyme or reason to how roon is sectioning an album of this type with so many versions and re-issues. Finding a landmark album should not be this hard.

If I filter on “Interplay” on the Bill Evans discography, I get single entries in each of Main, With, Appearances and More. This is markedly different behaviour than I remember from a month or so ago last time I looked when there were multiple entries in the different sections.

What criteria exactly is being used to allocate different versions of Interplay to the different sections? There seems to have been some changes.

If I click on each section it all seems rather arbitrary to me. There are 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 track versions and also a 2CD version scattered over the 4 sections. Eight of them have been collected under the versions tab of the Main section. The original album as far as I can see had 6 tracks but over the years different versions with different bonus tracks, running orders, and line-ups have been issued.

I must say that I don’t really understand the criteria that roon uses to place albums from artists with long catalogues in the different sections. A case like this does seem rather arbitrary and that can make browsing to locate a particular album difficult.
