The identify album screen does not find the Tidal album. No idea what this album it finds actually is. The cover is from some other album, the album title is differen from mine and from Tidal, and none of the tracks match:
I can’t be of much help but some things that I notice:
This grey one is a generic cover picture that is used for all unidentified albums. As your local album without the cover art is also listed as “unidentified”, there may be some confusion there.
The list that is shown in automatch or manual match comes from metadata services. These are generally albums that users have added to MusicBrainz. There is no guarantee that Tidal has them all for streaming, but they can be matched if you have a local copy
I know the grey one is unidentified. That is the point. I’m trying to identify an album that I just ripped from CD.
I’m aware of that. One of the sources of data is Tidal. Tidal has the album as shown in my post, yet Roon fails to either automatically or manually match it.
I guess you are not understanding the issue I’m reporting. It is a bug for @support. While it is nice of you to try to help others, it is not productive to jump in when you yourself say “I can’t be of much help” and then explain basic stuff to me.
That is a shame because it is a terrible user experience when I can see the correct album in Roon yet can’t match to it (and instead get matched based on bad metadata).
