Whenever I need to edit an album title consistent with my personal tagging scheme I’m faced with a blank field and I need to type in everything from scratch. Thus, to re-tag: Maurice Ravel: L’Heure espagnole to Ravel: L’Heure espagnole (simply omitting the first name) requires retyping the entire title without even any copy/paste options available. Even iTunes allows this. Unless there exists a work around that I’m not ware of, this would be a major improvement for future updates.

Just use the copy symbol (marked by red rectangle in the screenshot) that is there for exactly that reason. It copies the album title as given in the “Prefer Roon?” field to the input field for manual edits:
