I recently added two versions of Mahler symphony No. 2 conducted by Gilbert Kaplan, one with LSO and the other with VPO. Both are flac files of CD rips. I added the LSO version first, and then the VPO version. Once the VPO was added, LSO disappeared from library. I searched the album and found it from the results. I found it was tagged duplicate when it’s not. I don’t know how many albums disappeared like this. Please let me know how to sort this out.
Hello there, I’m just a user but have done this to myself. Most of the applications I use can not differentiate between formats or if it is a reissue.
I’ve taken to denoting with my tagger what the variation is.
so in your case I’d set the them like so:
title (LSO)
title (VPO)
We can discuss my obvious issues later.

Thank you for the tip. I sort of sorted out the problem by “show hidden albums”. I don’t know this is a permanent soulution though.
