Albums sorted by 'Date Added' are in wrong order (ref#U1HKEF)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· When I set the albums in my library to be sorted by date added, Roon has scrambled them up in the wrong order. Albums that I added some time ago have suddenly appeared at the top of the list as being the most recently added. This has only just happened. Previously this feature worked fine.

Tell us about your home network

· Roon server is running on a Mac Mini connected by Ethernet cable to a switch, which in turn is connected to my router, DAC and music storage computer. The router is supplied by Sky and the switch is from tp-link.

Are these albums from Qobuz?

Hi @Timothy_Jump,

Thanks for taking the time to write in and share your report! I can see from your account admin that you do indeed have an active Qobuz account tied to Roon, and are likely suffering with Qobuz content.

I have some good news in that our team is already aware of this issue and is actively investigating it. We don’t have any immediate next steps at this time, but we’ll certainly keep you in the loop.

Thanks for your patience in the meantime! :folded_hands:

Yes many are, bur I also have a large number of albums on my music sever. Those out of order do appear to be from Qobuz though,

Thank you. I will wait for your solution to become available. Will you simply roll it out in a software update?

Hi @Timothy_Jump,

Once we do find a fix, it will indeed be included in a future software update.

That being said, our team has not yet figured out a solution, so we very much appreciate your patience so far!

In the meantime, do you have any recently saved backups available?

If you could:

  1. Make a fresh backup
  2. Then, test out restoring an older backup and see if it temporarily set things right (it’s known that the date added will again become out of order)
If this happens, we’d like to get a copy of the backup you tested, if you could please:
  1. Zip up your backup(right-click it and select “Compress…”):

  2. Submit the .zip file to us through our Database upload portal

Thank you!

Thanks for checking back in @Timothy_Jump, we unfortunately don’t have any updates to share yet, but our team is still investigating potential solutions.

Regarding your earlier request, as I don’t have any earlier backups, it wasn’t possible for me to do as you requested. Would you like me to do a backup now and forward it to you?

The reason I don’t have any earlier Roon backups is because I backup my music server independently.

Restoring this feature, which used to work flawlessly, is very important to me because I like to access the albums I have more recently acquired with ease and without having to recall their titles. Without it, Roon becomes of questionable value to me as the Sense app, that comes with my Innuos music server, has this feature and many of the other features I use with Roon.

Tim.

Hi @Timothy_Jump,

We certainly understand how important certain focus options are, and I’m sorry this issue has stuck around for so long. The truth here is that we need to work with Qobuz directly in order to help identify where in the sync process the incorrect information is fed into Roon.

Because of this, progress has been slower than we had hoped, and you have my apologies there.

We’re all set on backups for now, our team should have everything they need to move forward. Thanks @Timothy_Jump :folded_hands:

Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you say about needing to work with Qobuz, but what I don’t understand is that the date added ordering worked perfectly until recently; maybe Roon broke something with one of its many updates, but you should be able to find this, as you no doubts know what was changed.

Also, why is this such a problem for Roon, when Innuos have been getting this right all along? The fact that they can do this suggests that the problem is with Roon software not Qobuz.

All the best,

Tim Jump.

Hi @Timothy_Jump,

Thanks for your input and feedback. I wanted to let you know we actually have a dedicated area for leaving feedback and opinions around Roon - our Feedback category.

I’d suggest posting any future thoughts there. This will help keep the technical support and troubleshooting threads clear and clean when it comes to diagnosing and fixing issues.

Appreciate your future cooperation here, and we’ll be in touch as soon as we can. :+1:

Hi Benjamin

OK, understood. However, not only is the issue discussed in this thread still going on, but also, Roon is now failing to identify some, but not all, of the files recently added to my music server. There is clearly something wrong with Roon as installed on my server.

Tim.

Update, Roon has now found the new files!

@benjamin, I have the same problem. In the Roon home page under Recent Activity – Added, it is showing about 80 Qobuz albums that I had added long ago. The albums are not just sorted in the wrong order. My Roon library now shows nearly 300 albums with their added date changed to 2 March 2026 (5 days ago).

In the Qobuz app, the favorited order of albums still looks correct, although it doesn’t show the date when individual albums were favorited. If Roon’s Date Added info are all coming from Qobuz, then I can understand that the issue was caused by Qobuz.

+1

I have the same issues…

Hi mSpot,

IMHO, if the Qobuz app show your favourite albums in the correct date added order, even though it does not display these dates, Qobuz must have retained the underlying date added data for it to be able to do this.

I discovered a workaround that you can use within Roon to view favorited Qobuz albums in proper order. Instead of looking at Roon’s recently added or My Albums, do this:

  1. In Roon’s main menu, open Qobuz.
  2. Select the My Qobuz tab
  3. Scroll down to Favorite Albums

This list is Qobuz-only and not integrated with other items in your Roon library. Also, it does not have a filter option to limit items displayed.

Hi mSpot,

This does indeed work for Qobuz, but there is no way of viewing the albums in my music server in date added order, even separately from the Qobuz favourites list.

The fact that your idea works for Qobuz albums, when viewed alone, shows that Qobuz must be providing accurate date added data and that the issue under discussion in this thread must be down to a bug in Roon alone!
