Description of Issue

This morning when I went to open Roon, it says “no audio devices found”. Never had this happen before. I downloaded and installed the latest version of roon, and went back a few days and reinstalled a backup when everything was working, but nothing worked. right now I am completely dead in the water with my lifetime Roon subscription and have not been able to find a support topic to help me fix this.

Hi Craig,

Fellow user here. FYI, support will be back on Monday. Can you detail exactly how your network is setup as the description on connected audio devices doesn’t really tell detail the specifics.

For example. Macbook Pro connected by ethernet to Netgear switch. Innous connected directly to same Netgear switch, etc etc etc.

The Core discovers the audio devices by querying them across the network. If anything blocks that query then the audio devices will not be created at the core.

Problems that could cause this are (in no particular order),

  • Firewalls and A/V (test by temporarily turning them off and seeing if the devices appear),
  • devices now on a different network (the core an all devices need to be on the same sub-net like 192.168.1.xxx; check the IP addresses of the core and devices to make sure they are on the same sub-net), and
  • did you try rebooting the network and devices as well as the Core?
