Connected allo DIGIONE signature via ethernet cable and it's disappeared from Roon, it was via WiFi before. From there to a mojo chord dac via coax to my headphones. It shows up as ropiee Roon bridge in the about section of Roon. I was testing it after connecting the ethernet cable and it was fine but then it just disappeared
Describe your network setup
Plugged into tp-link hx220 mesh pod. Router is tp-link ex230v
Hi @Stuart_Preece,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. As a first step can you make sure that the signature is in the same subnet as your RoonServer? Since the connection was changed Roon may also be seeing the signature as a new device. Check Roon settings → Audio to make sure it doesn’t need to be enabled.
Let us know if any of this fixes your issue with the signature.
Hi Daniel
For some reason it’s as ropiee. It was in my Roon as signature but when I was checking in the audio section it disappeared. I don’t know if it’s because it went from wireless to having it wired? There is nothing there now.
Hi @Stuart_Preece,
I did some research on the Signature. It looks like the device has two power supplies. One for RPi and one for the Signature itself. Can you check if you have the Signature Power supply set up?
Hi Daniel
I have the linear power supply that uses two outputs. Both are connected to the signiture. As mentioned it was in the audio section of Roon and working but when I plugged the ethernet cable in to my mesh to the signature I saw it disappear. I’m thinking of maybe trying to reflash the software on the signiture
Thank you for your post. Another possibility is that the router places the ethernet port on a separate subnet than the WiFi connection, effectively rendering the endpoint invibible to Roon over the network when you replace WiFi with ethernet.
I would double check in the HX220 settings - and also in the EX230v main router settings - that there’s a single network with a single subnet mask serving the entire mesh network. Make sure multicast forwarding is enabled along with IGMP snooping, if you see those settings are available: configuring_layer_2_multicast
These would be independent troubleshooting steps from the DigiOne firmware troubleshooting you’re doing with the reflash. I recommend taking both courses of action and letting us know if this helps.
Another test is to connecting RoonServer and the DigiOne both via ethernet to the main upstream router, the EX230v, instead of the mesh pod. This will bypass all the network stages in the chain and test whether the DigiOne is announcing itself properly to RoonServer and vice versa.
Well this is strange. I powered down the DIGIONE and waited a few minutes. Powered back up with the ethernet cable connected and it popped up in Roon again. Got it set up and listening to some music right now. Thanks for all the suggestions and help
Hi @Stuart_Preece,
We’re glad the Digione is working for you again. I’ll mark this thread as solved for you. It’ll remain open a couple more days in case the problem returns.
