I am having trouble getting my Dragonfly RED to work with the USBridge. I have updated the dragonfly to the v1.0.6 firmware(MQA) from Audioquest, but I am just getting noise from the DAC atm.
My SMSL M8 DAC works perfectly using the USBridge though…

Even if the aluminum case is coming!
So isn’t it make your Allo USBridge and DigiOne sounds good/great!
The plexiglass cases are okay for the sound.
I have a close contact with the company Entreq http://www.entreq.com/
Who are making a case of wood to me and (if everything is falling on place).
So will these be able to buying

Because a wood case will improve the sound amazing, on the Allo USBridge…
They will also looking great, Waxed Oak wood 
, so it’s soon finished for to showing up! As all new products so will the price depending on how many that will be ordered, but Entreq will make everything that is possible to make a great price on them! So it’s not going to cost, so much more than the aluminum cases will have cost! But what is a few penny more when it will make a huge impact on the sound, or?
Here’s a photo of a grounding box from Entreq, so you can see the beautiful wood! (But the case will not have the same shape of course)!
I believe that the case from Entreq will look a little more like this, but I’m sure!
Of course with the holes for the USB, Ethernet, HDMI and PSU connection.
Please write and say that you think about this and if you have any questions!

I have another friend that only got bad sound…
So he returned it and bought a Meridian Explorer 2 instead!
The Red Dragonfly is only going to 96 kHz as well, but the Meridian Explorer 2 is going to 192 kHz!
But not everyone of the MQA music is 192 kHz but it’s at least 50% or more, that doing it! The Meridian Explorer 2 is off better quality and it’s now big difference in price between the two!
So it’s not a new problem with the Dragonfly because it’s was at least, 3-4 months maybe longer since my friend had his problems with it!
I have never had any problems with my Meridian Explorer 2, i had to my computer first when I had it in my music room.
When I found the Allo USBridge so I could move out my computer from the music room, and change so I have the Roon Core on the computer and my iPad as remote control and the Allo USBridge as a Roon Bridge.
I only use my Meridian Explorer 2 as Dac to MQA music, and a B.M.C PureDac to my other music, TIDAL, DSD and ripped CDs.
It’s working perfectly to change between the two DAC’s, Allo’s USBridge is absolute one of my best buying for the money it cost .
But I recommend that you are, leaving back the Dragonfly if it’s possible or sell it and you can always use to your iPhone or what kind of phone you have, to use with headphones!
And buying the Meridian Explorer 2 instead, it works perfectly with the USBridge and is a much better dac, it’s higher quality and is sounding great!
If you only have one Dac, so is it 24 bits and 192 kHz it’s also playing DSD 64 and 128. So you get a lot for the money, with a Meridian Explorer 2! The Dragonfly isn’t close to it on any point!
But it’s only a advice from someone who now’s what I’m talking about.
When it’s up to you what you choose to do!

At the moment the Dragonfly Red isn’t working at all, not just giving bad sound though… I am quite happy with the DR on my iMac, since I don’t really care about MQA. I also find 96/24 to be all the resolution I need
Allo is investigating the issues, and they are trying to backport some fixes from later linux kernel versions(Spark only has 3.10 kernel atm), so hopefully they will get it sorted soon. I can confirm that the Dragonfly red works perfectly on Ubuntu 16.04(4.4.0 linux kernel), but not on an Asus Tinkerboard running Dietpi with kernel 4.4.71+.

Is it only dragonfly giving issues, or a more general problem?
Any idea when it will be fixed? In days or weeks or months?
I have the option of swapping the dac for another, so I’d like to know whether it’s worth waiting or swapping.

Because when you could use it in your iMac, until the problem is solved!

So do it, because the Meridian Explorer 2 is a so much better Dac!
You can play it in 192 kHz 24 bits and even DSD 64.
I don’t want to seems pushy, because I have wrote it to you and a few other who have the same problem as you!
I’m sure that Johan at Allo will fix the problem, but if I had been you so would I have changed it.
I have two DAC’s so I’m only using the Explorer 2, when I’m listening to MQA!
But I have compared it with my B.M.C PureDac that is a $$$, but the last time so does I use the Explorer 2 some time if I’m tired and don’t feel for change dac when I don’t play MQA! It’s sounds great to play other music also, so it’s a great Dac for the money that it cost!
I was reading some place here on Roon Community, that Meridian offered a better price now but I’m not sure because I haven’t checked it!
But as I wrote before I don’t want to, be pushy!
So do as feels best for you.

Yes I have an iMac close by, but the USB port on it is terribly noisy, which is why I decided to give the USBridge a try… I don’t have the option to exchange my dragonfly red for a Meridian explorer 2, so now I have to consider spending another $350NZD…I do have my SMSL M8 DAC connected to the USBbridge atm, and I will prob just use that while I wait for Allo to fix Dragonfly Red issues.
The SMSL M8 is part of my headphone setup though, which is why I got the Dragonfly Red
I should also say that MQA isn’t a real option for me atm as I use Roon for all my playback.

I have the same problem… my Dragonfly does not work with my USBridge.
Aaaah sorry to hear that @Jacob …must admit it is good to know I am not losing my mind. You’d think that lots of people are having problems, but not much on the web about it.

@allo.com has been backporting some fixes to their kernel, which I have tested, but no success to date.

Just FYI, not everyone agrees that the Meridian Explorer 2 is better than the Dragonfly Red.
What HiFi reviewed the Meridian Explorer 2… "While commendable, its performance isn’t so progressive, though, and so anyone – especially the majority without much of a music library beyond 96kHz or accessibility to MQA files – shopping for a budget DAC would benefit more from a better performer like the DragonFly Red.
I’ve got an Explorer 2 in my main system and a Dragonfly Black for other use. I haven’t done a direct comparison of them (life’s too short) but assuming the Red is essentially a better version of the Black (think it is - same sonic signature) then I’d say it’s down to individual preferences.
Put simply Meridian a bit smoother, Audioquest more direct. Both are very good, and not just for the money; the Meridian holds its head up high in an Ayre/Harbeth system
