Allo USBridge Signature HDMI output?

I was wondering what the audio output quality of the USBridge Signature over HDMI is like? Is it suitable for hi-fi output to a DAC with an HDMI input?

I would have thought that the HDMI output has not received any special attention and would be coming pretty much off the Pi industrial module. It’s my understanding that the HDMI is still just in place for providing a screen interface.
I think the focus is on providing a clean/clocked USB output.

Thanks, Tim.

Maybe it’s a moot point. Any HDMI 2 interface should be able to carry 5.1 audio, right? Wonder if the HDMI port is any different than the two on the RPi 4? What level of HDMI does it support?

Hmmm, I think it’s HDMI 1.3a. That’s what the CM3 board they use supports.

Hmmm, the Pi 4 board looks like a winner here, with a more advanced Broadcom chip:

The Pi4B has 2x micro-HDMI ports, both of which support CEC and HDMI 2.0 with resolutions up to 4Kp60.

Though, really, HDMI 1.0 supports 8 channels (7.1) of PCM up to 192kHz/24b. So…

Remember that this is OS dependent. For instance if you use Ropieee, it has HDMI audio disabled. So you have to find hardware that can do it and software that can exploit it.
