Allow connection from 100.64.100.6?

For the first time when I launched Roon I was asked to allow a connection from 100.64.100.6, is this legit?

Hard to tell without you showing the exact message and context.

Roon (wants to) open-up a single port to the internet for Roon ARC which is an optional feature/software that you do not have to use. So there might be some sort of security question (“Are you sure?”-type of question) involved.
The IP-Address you shared belongs to a reserved shared address space for Carrier-
Grade NAT (CGN)
. This means that everything coming from the internet to you is using an address from this reserved pool and we can not say who is behind it originally (legit or non-legit).
Also Roon ARC can’t cope with double NAT situations. If you wish to use Roon ARC you have to find a way to resolve the double NAT issue and thus the IP-Address seen by the Roon Server should change anyway – so I think it’s save to say that you do not have to allow connections from this reserved address space to any Roon software product.

Hi @huang,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I will echo what @BlackJack said here. It is hard to tell from the information you provided. Let us know if you need any further clarification.

Thank you for your response. I have a program called little snitch and it tells me whenever something’s trying to come in or go out that I have not previously approved. When I opened Roon I was asked to allow connection from that address. I had not seen a request for that address previously.
