Started to stream an album via Airplay to my Apple TV but soon as the first track starts an authorisation code appears and will not continue. Now there’s nothing new there but do not know where to enter the code. Normally I get a prompt on my iPhone X but not this time so am I losing it 
. Do not know if this is relevant but the Apple TV is connected by an ethernet cable!.
I believe you have to set the apple tv to PASSWORD mode, set a password, and then use that in Roon.

Thank you for that suggestion. Will give it a try in the next few days and let you know if it works.
Managed to connect to my Apple TV successfully after a few hiccups, Phew.
