Describe the issue

My mobile device (android) cannot find my Roon Rock Core server, while my other non android devices can always see the Rock server (core) on my network.
All these devices are connected trough the same wifi local network.

On my Android mobile phone when i disconnect my wifi connection, and turn it back on it can see the core server most of the times without a problem.

Describe your network setup

Router/modem is sending DHCP adresses on the local network. the Rock server is using a wired connection using a netgear switch GS105Ev2 which is wired connected to the main router/modem.

Good day @Joep_slooten !

Thanks for bringing your issue here!

When you see a zoom glass claiming you can’t find server did you try to press “Need help finding Server” button and enter IP of the server ?

Does it find the server in such a way ?

Looking forward to your reply!

Regards.

Thanks for your quick response, Alex!
I’ve tried this several times, but without success.
The only thing that sometimes helps me find the server is to turn Wi-Fi off and back on on my phone.
Perhaps it’s important to mention that I experienced the exact same problem with my previous phone. I thought it was my Android phone, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem.

hope you can help me! thank you…

Are you using a VPN on Android? If so, this will prevent Roon server from discovering the device (which is why restarting the device or Wi-Fi may help.)

If so, the VPN software may support split tunnelling. Usually found in the settings, if turned on, you can select Roon as an exclusion.

VPN is off, but thank you for the suggestion.
I’ve just tried the workarround option discribed on the forum, and entered iP 255.255.255.255
This helped to solve the problem for now! And i really hope it will in the future…
