Any CD Drives to avoid?

I have an MSi External Optical Disk Drive (CD, DVD, Blu-Ray) which isn’t recognised if I connect it to ROCK on a NUC8i3BEH. I’d like to replace it with an inexpensive drive - purely for ripping to ROCK.

Are there any drives I should avoid / which are known not to work?

Or can anyone recommend a drive they use?

I use an inexpensive LG drive from Best buy, 20:00. Don’t have the id number handy. Works fine with my NUC8I7BEH.

ROCK uses CD paranoia for ripping, supported drives are in their FAQ.
