Any good streamer/dac roon ready that outputs roon screen to tv via HDMI

Hi, I have an Eversolo but one annoyance is it won’t output Roon video / screens via HDMI to my TV.
I’d like a good endpoint / DAC / streamer that let’s me see what’s playing etc on my TV while it’s doing its thing.
Any thoughts on a device that does that? Thanks!

I don’t have a particular device in mind, but any specific reason why you want the video output to come from your endpoint?

Perhaps your TV already supports chromecast and you can leverage Roon’s Displays feature? Alternatively, you could add a Chromcast device to an HDMI port on you TV to leverage the Displays feature.
You would still stream audio to your Eversolo, but display info about the zone on the TV through Chromecast

Hmm haven’t used the roon display feature Sven, thanks for pointing that out.
Not sure it will do what I want though. I want to press the “eversolo” button on my harmony remote, have my preamp switch to the eversolo in port, the TV to turn on and the roon now playing to be displayed. I presume I’d have to muck with the chromecast each time to have it display the roon display info?
I could also have used the appleTV roon extension, but the appletv has only one hdmi out so I can’t select it on my TV without selecting it on my preamp, which would change away from the eversolo input.
I can airplay from say an ipad running roon to the TV, but that’s all manual setup each time I want to listen to roon…

There is an option on the Display to “Start on Playback”. I believe that, depending on the TV, starting a Chromecast would actually turn on the TV. So at least it might be worth trying it.

Yes this works. You set the Roon zone to have its display as the TV in my case a Sony with Google Cast built in. When I hit play it turns on my streamer/amp and tv. Won’t turn the tv off though.

I’m using also here for the most endpoints chromecasts, which works without problems (but the chromecast must started before Roon starts playing; otherwise you’ve to select it manually in Roon remote), if you’ve a stable WLAN or you use a LAN adapter.

Other option is to use a Hifi Rose device (I’ve a RS250) with HDMI out. Here you see (not only in using it as Roon endpoint) cover and meta tags in a bit different way.

Chromecast:

HDMI out:

With the Roon own display view (Chromecast, Browser, appleTV,…), you’ve the advantage, thst also lyrics will shown on it.

Thanks all. My samsung TV doesn’t seem to have built-in chromecast so I get a chromecast device and attach it to my 1 free HDMI port and see if it works.

Hmm, so got a chromecast, selected the HDMI port on my TV and set it up. It’s now showing it’s full interface. I go to roon → settings → displays and I see the chromecast. I enable it.
Nothing changes on my chromecast. Tried disabling and reenabling etc and nothing changes.
The Chromecast says it has the chomecast app installed but don’t see how to say "go show me what is coming in via the chromecast app.
Any ideas welcome!

Did you assign the display to the zone? Click on volume for the zone, select the display icon and set it to start on play. If you don’t see the display icon then your network is blocking the discovery of it. Is the TV on same subnet of your network as your Roon server?

Thanks that did it! All seems to be working well, with my TV having my now playing while my streaming dac sends audio to my preamp. Appreciate the help all.
