About two years ago I deceided needed to change the way I want to motivate my daughter’s love for music in another way then listening to music.
Best way was/is to show instead of listen. So I started to take piano-lessons.
I’m nowhere near any level. But I still enjoy it. And that’s important. And in those two years I saw my daughter (she just turned 4 now) growing up with more and more interest in the piano. She dances when I play, she sits on my lap and we play together, I do requests (not on real pieces of music but more on the musical-mood she’s into; monsters, ghosts, flowers, birds) and sometimes she’s plays songs for me. It’s the joy of music we start to share, the goal of my adventure. I hope she will play an instrument one day. And if she doesn’t; then dad can play piano.
Sinds my first lesson it also changed the way I listen to music. Much more attention for detail and it’s easier to discover new things in songs I thought I knew. That’s a nice benefit.
Any more players of any instrument here?
And what’s your story?
