Anyone else experiencing better Radio performance?

For the first time since I subscribed to Roon, the radio feature has been playing more than 10 artists. I started out this morning with a John Mayall track and now, two hours and change into Roon radio, I’ve had seventeen discrete artists playing.

This is great. I hope it will continue to work like this.

Does anyone else have this experience?

Not noticed it improve as of yet, maybe Valance is paying off after nearly two weeks of 1.8. Not used Radio so much this week but when I have It’s had the usual fails of getting stuck at the end of a track and not progressing many times. Several times in one session.

Up to 25 discete artists now. I’m happy.

Time for a correction: after more than 4 hours of good blues radio I switched genre. I seeded with Bruce Horrnsby and the Range. I got Steve Winwood, then Don Henley and then… Bruce Hornsby again, followed by… Steve Winwood and Don Henley.

Not good. Not good at all.

I tried Roon Radio again recently and find I am quickly repeating the same artists and often different songs from the same album. The other day I had to hit the thumbs down about 10 or 12 times before it came up with something from an album I had not already listened to. Can’t be bothered with it anymore.

Yesterday I thought Valence was doing great shuffling a tag that contained a few genres. (I assume it was Valence. It only shows one title in the queue and the next up with thumbs up/down.)

This morning, I started Roon Radio with artist George Duke as the seed. Below is a screen shot of what I got before I turned it off.

Note that I skipped the second Brian Bromberg track after getting three repeat artist/albums in a row. It played the Nathan East track, then back to Al Jarreau again for the third time in 45 minutes.

If you look at the George Duke artist page, you should be able to come up with about a million artist/albums to pick from.

Anyway, here’s the screen shot.

Yah, just had Radio go back to the seed track.

Sheesh! My happy mood’s gone bye bye.

Must be it’s forcing you to listen to the lowest common denominators …
aka everyone listens to this stuff so you should like it too…
