Anyone using an Onkyo receiver for dsd?

I have a 686 which supports dsd up to 384 kHz but when feeding it from my gustard u12 I have to limit it to 192 to get playback

Any ideas? I’m a complete newbie to dsd but wanted to get my feet wet lol

DSD is not 384 kHz. That is PCM. At a minimum, DSD is 2.8224 MHz – this also is referred to as DSD64.

Regardless, your options for Roon playback with the Onkyo AVR likely are limited to a maximum of 192 kHz via S/PDIF and HDMI and maybe DSD64 via HDMI.
