APE files compatible?

OK, I previously ripped about 100 CDs to my Windows 10 laptop using JRiver. They appear to be APE files. I am trying the trial version of Roon and it doesn’t seem to be importing these files into the library. I can see the folders and they are being “watched” but there are no files showing up in library. 1. Does Roon not import APE files? 2. If it doesn’t, how do I rip CDs to the Roon library? I would like to rip all my CDs and do away with the physical copies. *I have also purchased KEF LS50W speakers and am hoping to use Roon to play my files wirelessly through them.
Thanks - sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I couldn’t see it.

Roon does not support APE format. You can convert your APE files to FLAC. If you still have JRiver, that’s the easiest for you to do the conversions, otherwise there are free software online for converting audio formats.

If you’re ripping CDs, can’t go wrong with EAC (Exact Audio Copy) and it’s free

Hi William,
Just adding to Kayo’s post, if you have any other files that Roon is not importing take a look at this Some of my files aren’t showing up in Roon … the Roon Knowledge Base is a great reference guide.

Thanks Kayo. Did as you suggested and all of the files are now in Roon. Looks and sounds great so far…
