The team has invesetigated this UI crash on the affected tablet in diagnostics. There are warning traces related to rendering around the time of the unmanaged crash. But we haven’t yet identified a causal mechanism - as far as we know, this is device-specific to the UI implementation.
What version of OneUI is this tablet running? Have you updated to OneUI 3.1, the latest available for the Sm-T510?
We have a few A/B tests to follow up that should help us pinpoint the issue and a potential workaround/fix:
Can you reproduce this issue if you just hold down the Next button instead of repeatedly tapping?
What about changing font size or in your Android display settings? Does changing between landscape/portrait orientation have any effect?
Ok great, this is expected behavior. You’ll need to press the forward advance key each time you’d like to skip a track.
Is the issue that performance becomes slow? Or was there a different issue you didn’t mention? Did you manage to test out changing the font size on the tablet as well?
We’ll share your findings with the team, thanks for your patience in the meantime!
I’ve submitted a bug report with the dev team to get this looked at and while I can’t comment on exactly when this will happen, it is in the queue. I don’t believe any other details are needed at this moment, so I’ll go ahead and mark this case to close.
Once the changes are ready, we will make a new build of Roon and mention the bug fix in our Software Release Notes section, so I would keep an eye out for improvements in in the next Roon release(s). Thanks!
It’s been some time since we last spoke, are you still seeing this crash? If so, the dev team has made a discovery that might be of importance, it looks like the crash was related to the keyboard in use. Can you please confirm if the issue still occurs if you try to use a different keyboard, such as Gboard or Microsoft Swiftkey? Thanks!
