My MacBook is running Sequoia and I’ve been listening to Roon using AirPods Max via USB-C cable connected to MacBook.
I’m not sure what happened. Perhaps I shouldn’t have upgraded to Sequoia last week. But I’ve noticed that the AirPods Max via USB option under coreaudio in Roon’s Audio Devices pages disappears unless I turn bluetooth off. I can’t use that device when bluetooth is turned on.
I assume this means I’ve been listening via Bluetooth even when the USB-C cable is attached and Bluetooth is turned on.
My question is: Is there a setting in Roon and/or MacOs Sequoia where bluetooth can remain active on the laptop AND the coreaudio exclusive mode is handling Roon’s output?
Thank you @ExUnoPlura for taking time to offer this advice. The problem in my case is that the bluetooth connection to the AirPod Max also gets forgotten (automatically) on my iPhone as well. The connections migrate to each other automatically and I don’t know how to stop the migration of the AirPods Max.
I could live with this except I also use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse on my MacBook when the AirPods Max are connected via USB-C.
For what it’s worth I have checked and double-checked the settings on both the iPhone and MacBook for the AirPods Max to connect only “When last connected to this phone.” and “When last connected to this Mac.”
I have also turned off the iPhone mirroring feature of MacOs Sequoia and the handoff feature.
So my question is really an Apple question but when I pose it to them I get answers I’ve already tried. I don’t see an iCloud setting for this either.
