It would be great!

@R_102: I am not alone

Maybe my more sedentary, retired, lifestyle doesn’t have this need but I think there many more fundamental areas in need of developer resource attention before the absolute icing on the cake

My 2 p

Hi @Larry_Post, this request revolves around an app being developed by Roon for Apple Watch - just as Roon has developed an app for iOS, Android, etc that provides Roon controls. Similar to what Spotify has developed. See here: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/apple-watch/

Hi @Mike_O_Neill, I recall that you had made a similar statement within this feature request back in April of 2019. I’d like to make the same suggestion that I did back then: “You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, Mike. And while I am very much a fan of Classical music like you - I see you’ve made a number of posts about the genre - others might argue that the feature requests you support are in fact the icing on the cake. Who’s to say who is right? I would like to suggest we focus on the merit of this feature request in its own right and let Roon set the priorities.” Thank you.

Alas this is not a voting game !! I am not really sure how anyone outside of the Roon exec has any influence on the direction of features for development. Only they know the way they want Roon to go.

My opinions as you say are mine and I think I’ve been consistent over the 4 years a user.

I still hold that if you don’t “shout” you won’t be heard. Box sets are the one feature that will ultimately drive me away from Roon. If I don’t keep plugging no one will ever know of my dissatisfaction.

A good Lancashire mums advice “ them as don’t ask don’t get”

Classical music is certainly a limited genre but one that has different library requirements than say pop or rock, but because it’s niche doesn’t mean it should be ignored. My requirements for the heavy rock portion of my library are well met by Roon.

My thoughts on the Apple Watch are probably my old age showing, I don’t see any value in the device. I have enough smart tech to keep me abreast of digital needs. So why should I support dev effort to enhance something I am unlikely ever to own at the expense of something I feel passionately about.

Enough — Each to his own, at least it’s nice to see that I am consistent :sunglasses:

Right but Spotify wrote a native iOS app. None of the Roon apps are native.

The platform Roon uses is very likely not supported on Watch and probably never will be so unless Roon decides to break with the past 6 years there won’t be a Watch app.

@R_102 programmed a very good roon app running on AppleTV. I am sure, he Is able to creat an app running on the Apple Watch.

Really? Wow, I did not know that. Thank you, @Larry_Post. Are you aware of any Roon software architecture documentation for further reading? I’d be very interested to learn more.

Only from these forums. I believe the cross platform code is called Qt.

@VolkerS I may take a look, can’t promise anything though!

+1 from me too

+1 for Apple Watch app

Has there been any official response from the Roon team? This feature request has been around for 2+ years now - all we’re asking for is a basic play/pause/volume controls, for starters.

It should be a no-brainer. All the other music apps I’ve used have an Apple Watch app. I’ve never seen an official response. Not that it would mean too much. After all, they promised vertical scrolling for a couple of years before delivery.
