I’m confused. I changed all the settings that were recommended above by DanMtsn and DavidY but I’m not seeing any way to control Roon with my watch.
On the positive side, I can now control the volume of system with my iPhone external volume control which is lovely!

the Roon remote must be running on your iPhone, otherwise you won’t see anything on the watch
Thanks I missed the enable lock screen controls (Beta) setting in the app.
What is the status on this please? Does it run on a Sonictransporter? Is the app already available? Thanks

I would like to see an Apple Watch App for Roon. It can be simple. Play/Pause/Stop/Next/Prev
I now use Roon to stream throughout my house in zone 2 as well as outside(Zone 3). It’s great that you can use your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV as a remote, I think the most convenient remote would be the one on your wrist. There already is one for Tidal. I prefer Roon!

If you want a free workaround, you can select Enable Lock Screen Controls in settings then use the Now Playing feature on the watch. Here are some images of mine:
The watch seems to be seeing the Lock Screen controls, so even if you are playing it from an endpoint in your main rig, as long as the iPhone or iPad has that screen controls available, your watch will link to it. Also, if your DAC allows for volume control or your DSP volume is set up, the crown on the watch can control that as well, which is really handy!

rooWatch is the better solution if you want an Apple Watch app independent of the Roon app running on the iPhone. It has some more nice features, such as:
- cover art on the Watch
- no look interaction with taps and swipes
- full Roon browsing
- Siri integration
- playlist control

But you need a raspberry pi for rooWatch, right? I don’t have one of those, just an Intel nuc running rock……

I can control ARC with my Apple Watch, so why not Roon?
Because arc is playback control and output purely on the local iDevice, Roon is just a remote control app and it’s not a native iOS app which ARC may be.
rooWatch might do some of what you’re expecting.
I have it working now
So I have to select the “now playing” app on the watch to envoke it - correct?
Please make a Roon Remote app for Apple Watch that can at least adjust the volume with the Apple Watch wheel.

Please dont make it just as a controll, but atlest offline download music to watch! Hopefully would love if i could stream!

I used to use iPeng. And it has an Apple Watch app that can control iPeng. Simple controls like pause and play, jump tracks forward and backwards. And tab screen to toggle between control screen and cover art. I hope Roon can provide an Apple Watch app as well.
Roowatch nice but the setup is too cumbersome and pricey for someone who wants to do simple Roon control using the Apple Watch.
