Describe the issue
Login in will not transfer to the application. I am logged in to the account but it will not open the application.
Describe your network setup
This is on your end. My equipment has not changed. This has been an issue for days now. Website is blaming Cloudflare.
Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the login process.
To help us pinpoint where the connection is getting stuck, could you please provide a bit more detail?
1. The Redirect Prompt After you enter your credentials in the web browser, do you see a pop-up window prompting you to “Open Roon” (or allow the site to open an application)? It should look similar to this:
Sometimes, aggressive ad-blockers or security settings in a default browser can block the token from passing back to the Roon app. Could you please try this quick workaround?
Trigger the login from the Roon app.
When your default web browser opens the login page, copy the URL from the address bar.
Open a completely different web browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari), ideally in an Incognito/Private window.
Paste the URL there and complete the login process.
Please let us know if you see the pop-up prompt, or if using an alternative browser helps push the login through!
I don’t get that, but I don’t get the pop-up as I already have it automatically go to the application. The application is where it hangs. It times out after about 20 seconds.
We have been dealing with a major global infrastructure outage involving Cloudflare over the last few days.
The good news is that Cloudflare has resolved the primary issues, and most users are now able to log in successfully. Since you are still facing this roadblock, let’s try a couple of quick steps to force the connection:
Temporary Default Browser Change: Sometimes Windows gets stuck trying to pass the token to a specific browser. Try temporarily changing your default system browser (e.g., from Chrome to Edge, or vice versa) in Windows settings just before you click the login button in Roon.
Incognito Mode: When Roon opens your browser to log in, copy that URL and paste it into a Private/Incognito window. This ensures no old cache or cookies from the Cloudflare outage are interfering with the process.
Full Restart: Ensure you have fully exited Roon Server via the System Tray (near the clock) before trying the login again.
Please let us know if you are still stuck after trying these steps. Now that the global outage is over, we want to make sure you get back into your library immediately!
I have tried multiple browsers, incognito mode, restarting Roon, and restarting the computer. None of these work. I have even deleted my Roon server and reinstalled it. The issue seems to be that the web account verification does not work for the application.
Please try logging into the Roon accounts page in a web browser independently of Roon. Do you see any active sessions listed at the bottom of the page? Try forcing a sign out there.
Let us know if you’re unable to login to the accounts page itself.
We’re pinging this thread because we haven’t seen a response and we don’t see any activity since you last posted.
Have you tried logging into the accounts page directly via a web browser? Try scrolling to the bottom and checking if you have any active sessions within Roon. We recommend signing out/back into this page directly.
I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the server/app. I cleared my browser that was set as default and one of those things seemed to fix it. My original issue was that the app kept searching/spinning, never updating albums. I guess something in the database or file was corrupted. Now just waiting a few hours for all my albums to reload. Thanks for your help.
