I think Roon is an amazing service. I use it with Tidal. I really like what Roon lets me do – find new music/artists, find what my favorite artists are doing and what I’ve missed, and just generally adds a great dimension to my life. I really like the smart playlist feature that comes on after you’ve listened to an album.
I’ve used an old-ish NUC as dedicated Roon server and it runs quietly in my media cabinet. The reliability and performance is great. My wife enjoys her music as well.
