Describe the issue
when I launch the ARC app from my mobile phone, I get the following message: "The is an issue with your roon server", and at the bottom it proposes the "Disconnect from Antipodes" (which is my Roon server and which works fine when I use Roon directly). I did not click on this option for fear that it will disconnect Antipodes not only from ARC but also as a Roon server altogether. Please let me know how to fix the issue. Note: the Antipodes model is DS.
Describe your network setup
ISP: Orange (largest ISP provider in France) Network devices: Orange box coupled with a Devolo Magic Wifi extension OS: I access roon through my laptop running on Windows 11, and ARC from my Samsung Galaxy A51 running on Android
Thank you for your post. I’m assuming you see this message on WiFi as well as cellular data?
Do you see any issues in Settings → ARC in Roon itself that might indicate a port forwarding problem?
Generally, this message simply means that ARC simply can’t see the server on the current phone network connection. But it can also mean the ARC/server session has gone stale, or it can be a sign that the unique identifier ARC associates with your RoonServer no longer matches what it expects.
Disconnecting from the server in your ARC instance will not disconnect Roon Remotes from your server or affect your database itself in any way. You won’t lose files on the server o have to reconstruct your library if you take this step.
Did you recently migrate your RoonServer between machines or restore a Backup?
Do you have a large volume of music downloaded to the phone locally in ARC?
The simplest solution here is to try to disconnect/reconnect, or just reinstall the app. However, this will require you to redownload music to the phone, which an take some time.
Thank you for the guidance, I did try to disconnect / reconnect and it solved the issue.
However It led to the following issue: while ARC can now access the music files stored in my Antipodes Server, it cannot access my Qobuz library (the exact error message appraring at the bottom of the screen in red is "Problem communicating with Qobuz”), while the access to the Qobuz library works fine when I use the Roon instead of Roon ARC. Can you help me fix this?
I’ve been having the same issue with Qobuz for a while now. I only get an error message when using my cellular data connection. It works fine over Wi-Fi without any changes.
Thanks for looking into this issue. It occurs over both wifi and celular data.
Here is a hint that hopefully will help you solve it:
when I go to “My Library” then “Albums” and select one, on rare occasions a track of the album I select is played but then the error shows while trying to play others. This happens for example on the “A tribute to caetano veloso” album: the first track '(“You don’t know me”) plays OK, but the error shows up when moving to the 2nd one (“Eclipse Oculto”). On Phil Manzanera’s “Listen Now” album, the first tracks bring the error message but somehow the track entitled “City of Light’ is played OK, as well as all the subsequent ones until the end of the album.
Please note also that between the time I posted the issue and this post I replaced my Samsung A51 by a Samsung Galaxy S26, which had no influence on the issue whatsoever.
Thanks for the additional information and follow-up! It sounds like you’re experiencing a known issue that our development team is actively working on, alongside Qobuz.
We don’t have any immediate next troubleshooting steps to share at this time, but this issue is a high priority, and I’m confident a solution will be rolled out soon.
